  4. Yes, time flies. No need to tell me. It's that time of year again:
  5. the autumn rains have started again up here and that means the Gestalt
  6. Selectors List (GSL) celibrates yet another birthday...
  7.  
  8. During the last five years the GSL has grown to about 360 Kb of text
  9. (lost count of the selectors!) with a 'impressing amount of info'. It
  10. seems to have become the standard reference for Mac programmers, and
  11. others like InstallerMaker users, regarding determining software and
  12. hardware features of Mac OS computers.
  13. It is supported by many contributors and publishers like Apple
  14. (Developers CD Series) and Celestin Company (Apprentice CD).
  15. Over the past years the number of 'How do I test for X' questions in the
  16. comp.sys.mac.programmer newsgroup(s) have become almost zero.
  17.  
  18. I like to credit the GSL for that, but there is no proof! The only proof
  19. are the 188 subscribers (including myself) who receive the GSL regularly
  20. by email. If those who changed email address and caused bounced emails
  21. had stayed on we'd be at 230 or so!

  23. To replace the dull and unpopular questionnaire of the last three years,
  24. this year I'd like to celibrate the birthday with a small on-line party*:

  29. download.
  30. And a tip for a small present to give is also available (guess! :-) ).
